Fond Farewell to Sarah White
The New York office bade a fond farewell to Dr. Sarah White, the Institute’s Director of Communications. During her six year tenure as Director of the Office of Communications Sarah made significant and important contributions. She brought the worldwide LICR community together with the creation of NewsLink, keeping us abreast of the latest news and showcasing the extraordinary achievements of the Institute’s scientific staff, collaborators and affiliates. The Annual Reports which she authored allowed us to fully appreciate the broad spectrum of LICR research activities and recognize the Institute’s significant and direct contributions to the understanding of cancer, its treatment and management. The website under her editorial management became a premiere communication vehicle to promote the Institute’s research, its people and successes. She was also instrumental in helping secure new sources of funding from the Atlantic Philanthropies Ltd. and The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Through her diligent and professional efforts Sarah helped elevate the Institute’s profile around the world and enhance its reputation within the medical and scientific communities. Her upbeat personality and ready smile will be very much missed. We wish her much success in her future endeavors.
